God has anointed me to minister to his people through song; I thank him so much for the gift. I thank God for my relationships in Atlanta with other wonderful singers and musicians. I've worked with many and learned from many. My first professional opportunity came when I had the great pleasure to sing throughout the country with an R&B group professionally traveling in New York, New Jersey and Philadelphia. After three years of traveling I realized my heart and soul belonged to gospel music. Born in a family of singers and being the preacher’s daughter I traveled to churches all over Atlanta with him. I have been singing in church since she was 8 years old. I was honored to sing on the same stage with gospel legend Pastor Shirley Caesar at one of her concerts. Singing the good news of Jesus Christ comes from deep within my soul. Through my trials and tribulations, sickness and victories God has given me a word for his people through my song ministry so that he might be glorified and the body of Christ edified. To God be the Glory for great things he has done. |

4:00 Claudette King |
Inheriting her father’s gift for music, Claudette sang in glee clubs and the choir of Reverend Brown’s Baptist church growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area. “My inspiration is my dad,” says Claudette today, also mindful of how her father was almost constantly on the international concert circuit as the tireless “Ambassador of the Blues.” Listening to the radio and her mother’s collection of record albums, she soaked up the joyous singing of notables like Aretha Franklin, Chaka Khan, Michael Jackson, and Mahalia Jackson. In her twenties and thirties, she made occasional club and concert appearances around town. | |
